Timber All timber used in BWF Accredited Timber Windows meet (or exceed) the quality requirements of BSEN942 and meet all other NHBC requirements. Timber is sourced from certified suppliers who demonstrate sustainability good practices.
Glazing As the NHBC "Build Mark" guarantee covers double glazing units for 10 years, it is essential that quality materials and correct glazing techniques are used. All double glazing units used in factory glazed BWF TWAS windows use dual seal system and comply with BS EN1279 PT2.
Timber Preservative Treatment All the timber used in BWF Accredited Timber Windows is guaranteed to give a minimum life of 30 years.
Fully Factory Finished The BWF TWAS and its development and promotion of fully factory finishing have helped bring out a fundemental inprovement in the long life / low maintenance properties of timber windows. Fully factory finished and factory glazed BWF TWAS windows do not need re-decorating for 5 years (stains) or 8 years (paints) depending on location.
Performance The high performance of BWF TWAS is derived from a combination of the natural characteristics of timber (strength, durability and warmth etc.) modern design, quality manufacture and components. The BWF TWAS requires windows to be independantly tested by a UKAS approved laboratory for air and water penetration. Weather seal is gauranteed for 10 years. BWF TWAS equal or exceed the performance standards for NHBC and BS644.
