  • Boyland have increased their purchase of FSC, PEFC materials, these being strong Chain of Custody sources for timber.
  • Boyland have carried out research and implemented water based preservative treatment to compliment their water based paint system, thus eradicating all solvent based products from their manufacturing process.
  • Boyland have reviewed their purchasing procedures, and reduced the amount of deliveries of goods inwards. Thus reducing suppliers' carbon footprint and packaging.
  • Boyland have increased the amount of laminated timber they purchase therefore using 30% more of the tree.
  • Boyland have eliminated all timber off-cut waste, by using it to heat the factory in the winter and provide warm air to our paint drying tunnel continuously.
  • Boyland have purchased a Briquette machine, which takes all the timber shavings produced in manufacture and compresses them into briquettes which provide us with bio fuel in the winter months to heat the factory, supply warm air to the paint drying tunnel.   Any surplus is sold as green bio fuel.
  • Boyland employ the use of an external contractor to remove all paper waste from the office and packaging for recycling.
  • Boyland ensure that all their old printer ink cartridges are donated to local charities.
  • Boyland has introduced a full recycle bin system, dramatically reducing their landfill waste.
  • Boyland have purchased a capacitor, which controls the flow of energy used in the manufacturing process.
  • Boyland have introduced a new locking up procedure to ensure all lights are turned off, computers are turned off, and all electrical appliances with digital displays are turned off every night.  Employees are encouraged to turn off those machines not used continually in the day.
  • Boyland have made a huge commitment to reduce their carbon footprint, by selling their two older lorries and purchasing one larger greener engine lorry.
  • Boyland have encouraged reduced travelling, the larger lorry being capable of more drops so it is out less often achieves this. The surveyors schedule more jobs in their day to reduce the amount of days they are out and even stay over to save fuel consumption.
  • Boyland have reduced the amount of packaging used for their windows and door-sets.
  • Boyland have installed energy saving switches, which automatically turns off monitors printers and all other peripherals when not in use.
Boyland have partnered with a recycle company ensuring all old timber windows and door-sets, which are being replaced, are sent for recycling.
